Founded in 2019 with our first setting at Castell Club, Clwb Y Ddraig has grown to nine clubs across Caerphilly and Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT). Our journey has been driven by a passion for creating spaces where children can thrive through child-led play and quality care.

Our Mission
At Clwb Y Ddraig, our mission is to provide quality, accessible out-of-school childcare that offers a range of play activities in a welcoming atmosphere. We are committed to:
-
Fostering Community: By providing a welcoming environment where children of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn, and grow together.
-
Empowering Children: Our settings embrace Articles 31 and 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). We ensure all children have access to freely chosen play opportunities to enhance their experiences during their time at Clwb Y Ddraig. We also believe in the importance of child-led consultations, enabling children to explore their voices freely within our clubs.
Our Aims and Objectives
-
Quality Childcare: To provide high-quality, accessible out-of-school childcare that meets the needs of children and their families.
-
Right to Play: As advocates of Article 31 of the UNCRC, we ensure that all children have the right to play. We offer a variety of play activities that are freely chosen by the children, enhancing their experiences and development.
-
Voice and Choice: We strongly believe in Article 12 of the UNCRC, which states that all children have the right for their views and opinions to be taken seriously. Through child-led consultations, we empower children to express their voices and make choices about their time at Clwb Y Ddraig.
