Clwb y Ddraig Wraparound is located within Hengoed Primary School and caters for children aged 2 to 12 years, as outlined in our admissions policy. Registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), the club is approved to accommodate up to 32 children.

 

Our main base is the demountable building on the school yard. The building opens out onto a secure outdoor play space, offering plenty of room for active fun.

 

During lunch club, when attendance exceeds 20 children, we also access the nursery classroom in the main school building, with a self-contained outdoor area, and is used exclusively during lunch hours.

 

Our Afterschool Club currently runs from the demountable building however we do have access to the school hall and has the school yard when sessions are busier.

 

With a child-led approach, the club meets children's social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional needs while recognising their individuality. ​A diverse range of activities are available, and the team collaborates with the school to align themes and planning for a seamless experiences. Children are actively encouraged to contribute to the planning and evaluation of activities, as well as to share ideas for equipment purchases.

Healthy snacks and drinks are provided during sessions, adhering to the club’s healthy eating policy and accommodating dietary needs specified in each child's registration form.
